Behind The Brand
The Two Thousands emerged as a beacon of resilience and creativity during the challenging times of the pandemic. Founded by Bongi Balisa and Owethu Phekani, the initiative was born out of a desire to support those suffering across Africa during the Covid-19 crisis.
From their impactful NGO efforts, the Garmember’s clothing range was born—a collection that harnesses South Africa’s beloved humor: satire. Bold, witty, and culturally inspired, The Two Thousands uses fashion to tell stories, spark conversations, and bring light to even the darkest times, making it more than clothing—it’s a movement.
